Nidderdale Region

Originally intended as a site for the Hampsthwaite area and originally named "Hampsthwaite", the site has widened it's horizons to cover the whole of upper Nidderdale from Whernside down to Nidd and Scotton, East of the Ripon Road. Also included are the settlements along the River Washburn just South.

• Bewerley • Birstwith • Bishop Thornton • Bishopside • Blubberhouses • Brimham • Burnt Yates • Clifton with Norwood • Clint • Dacre • Dacre Banks • Darley • Fewston • Greenhow Hill • Hampsthwaite • Hartwith • Haverah Park • Kettlesing • Killinghall • Menwith Hill • Middlesmoor • Nidd • Padside • Pateley Bridge • Ramsgill • Ripley • Scotton • Stonebeck • Summerbridge • Swincliffe • Thornthwaite • Thruscross • Timble • Wath • Willsill •

While records concentrate mainly on Hampsthwaite Parish, we have census indexes for many other townships. For 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901, we cover the whole area. We also have many districts covered in the 1911 census.
